Brooklands Museum, located in Weybridge, Surrey, England, are the proud custodians
of the only surviving complete Vanguard, kindly donated to the Museum by Hunting
Cargo Airlines in October 1996. G-APEP saw service with British European Airways
Corporation as a passenger aircraft before conversion to Merchantman standard. In
its new guise it served BEA Cargo, and, following the merger of BEA and the British
Overseas Airways Corporation, British Airways Cargo. For the remainder of its active
service it was operated by Air Bridge Carriers and in their later title, Hunting
Cargo Airlines. It retains its Air Bridge Carriers livery but with Hunting Cargo
Airlines titles. Today it resides in the Museum alongside examples of Vickers-Armstrongs
two other propliners, the Viking and the Viscount.
