Dieter Maier of Haselbuehl, Ulm, Germany salvaged many parts of c/n 725 and others to build this replica of the Vanguard Flight Deck. Over the course of 17 years from 1978, he had acquired many instruments from Europe Aero Service at Rivesaltes Airport, Perpignan, in the south of France. All of the instruments are in working order and came from the V.952s purchased by Europe Aero Service from Trans-Canada Air Lines.
It was whilst on final approach to Perpignan Airport in April 1978 that he spotted the Vanguards around the E.A.S hangar, and on visiting this facility, was allowed to view a Vanguard’s cockpit. This inspired him to build this classic panel.
